Minimum Candidate Qualifications:

• Must be 21 years of age
• Must be a U. S. Citizen
• Must possess at a minimum an accredited High School diploma or GED
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driver’s history
• Must not have any felony convictions
• Must not have any domestic violence convictions
• Must have a strong moral character and stable emotions and temperament
• Must be able to pass the Alabama Police Officers' Standards and Training physical agility test and knowledge tests.
• Must pass a thorough drug screening and medical examination.
• If a candidate has been discharged from the military, it must be an honorable discharge
• Must be able to communicate both orally and in writing
